Plain and simple this is a fairy tale, but you can laugh and just enjoy it. The story plot is big cities are places for people to be successful and unhappy, and little southern towns are where people are, well whatever, but they are happy in being and doing that. If this theme runs true I should expect my eldest daughter back home soon. Sometimes the characters actions are just too good to be true. I just can't see being stood up at the alter as an event that would lead to a very controlled response. I can't say more without wrecking the ending for you, but if the ending is at all in question, then you haven't watched enough of these movies. To be honest we did wonder just for a moment.
Reese Witherspoon is right for her part, and really carries the movie. What you can like about this story is that it is completely fun. No great emotional moments, but lots of laughs along the way. It won't win anyone an Oscar, but it'll make for a nice evening. There's more language than necessary, but no nudity or sex.
