Roger Ebert describes this as "...a pure and rather inspired example of the one-on-one chase movie." I agree.
What I liked about this movie was that the action kept you on the edge of your chair from beginning right to the end. The acting of Tommy Lee Jones was excellent as always, and Benicio Del Toro fit his role very well. It's a good story and could easily be real.
What I didn't like was the casting of Connie Nielsen as the top FBI agent. It seemed like she was a token woman for the movie. I also didn't like the fact that she always seemed to know where the action was, even though we get no clue as to how that happens. [Save for the first time where she plants a tracer on Jones]. Her acting in the role, on the other hand, was good. I also found it a little tough, that Jones [old] can keep up with Del Toro [young in the prime of his life].
But the minuses don't overshadow this good action movie. I would not recommend this movie for children. The violence is graphic and language very strong.
