Judy and I decided to take in a Valentine's day movie, and somehow "Monster" didn't really seem right for the day. I expected a run of the mill romantic comedy, but we got much more. Maybe it was the day that did it, but we loved this movie. It was funny - no - very very funny and just about the point where my guts were aching from laughing, the movie turns emotional. Some might think it a fairy tale but I think it has enough possibility for reality, that the movie captured us. In spite of it's light hearted nature, this is really not a children's movie. Lots of sexual innuendo, and one character, the aquarium assistant, does absolutely nothing for this movie. Still if one can just see past that, the movie plays well. This is Sandler's second movie with Barrymore, but we liked this one way more than the Wedding singer. His character here is just so much more positive. And guys if you think this is a "chick flick", the humour alone makes it worth the see. So we recommend it, highly.
