This is Denzel in great form, and it's a good story. OK, there may be a few holes, but the movie is good entertainment and that's what it's all about. Dakota Fanning is just so likeable. I guess the critics don't like it because it's too much a Rambo thing. Not enough originality in the last half. So what. Washington makes it look good and we liked it. Like many critics Roger Ebert didn't like it and said this about it. "Man on Fire employs superb craftsmanship and a powerful Denzel Washington performance in an attempt to elevate genre material above its natural level, but it fails." He gave it thumbs down, and we disagree. Go and see it, now or on DVD when it comes out.

Storyline From Yahoo: Denzel Washington stars as a government operative/soldier of fortune who has pretty much given up on life. In Mexico City, he reluctantly agrees to take a job to protect a child (Fanning) whose parents are threatened by a wave of kidnappings. He eventually becomes close to the child and their relationship reawakens and rekindles his spirit. When she is abducted, his fiery rage is unleashed on those he feels responsible, and he stops at nothing to save her.
