Radio

This is just one great movie about how people should care, but to be honest we don't.
Rails and Ties (2007) This is a movie with an intricate set of circumstances and relationships. It's a movie worth a see.
Raise Your Voice [2004]

I'm a sucker for triumph over adversity movies. I love happy endings. An enjoyable movie for me.
Rambo (2008) Extremely violent. Better than Rambo II and III, but not as good as First Blood. Nice ending.
Ratatouille (2007) It's a good animated movie, but not that great.
Reader, The (2009) - This was a complex and hard story. What made it a good movie was Kate Winslet's acting in it.
Reckoning, The (2004)

Paul Bettany's performance is meritorious. If you are looking for a decent movie this could be the one.
Recruit, The (2003)
This movie never really puts it all together. Bits and pieces are good, but the story is weak.
Red [2010] This a comic book movie and just lots of fun - start to finish.
Red Cliff [2009] On DVD - The Chinese history in the 2nd and 3rd Century. If you watch, use subtitles not English dubbing.
Redeemer (2002)
Based on a true story, I found this movie somewhat unbelievable. It was slow and not well acted.
Rendition (2007) Not a horror but a very scary movie considering this kind of thing actually happens. Worth a look.
Renegade [2004]
Bad computer graphics that went on way too long
Rescue Dawn (2007) Based on the true story of German-born American Dieter Dengler. Slow but also interesting.
Resistance (2006) War movie about a US pilot that goes down in Belgium in WW2 and is rescued by the resistance.
Revolutionary Road [2008] Kate Winslet and Leonardo DeCaprio couldn't save this movie for us. We bailed 1/2 way.
Road, The [2009] Even Viggo Mortensen couldn't save this movie.
Road To Perdition (2002)
Some powerful acting by Tom Hanks and Paul Newman. I never felt drawn in by this movie.
Robin Hood [2010] If you wanted accurate history, you would not enjoy this movie, but we went to be entertained and enjoyed it.
Rumor Has It [2005]
Saved by the few lessons this movie has interwoven into it, and it is reasonably fun to watch.
Run, Fat Boy, Run (2008) Some very funny moments and it entertains and that's what good movies are about.
Rundown, The (2003)
Just a shallow action flick, it has enough twists and humour to make it enjoyable entertainment.
S1mone
In my opinion it's not really anything
Sahara

I t's fun, has some of those environmental doomsday themes, and you'll be entertained.
Scorpion King
Are you in the mood for a senseless bit of entertainment, then take this one out just for the fun of it.
Secretariat [2010] This movie engaged us from the start and is the best movie I have seen this year.
Seraphim Falls (2007) Touted as the best western of 2007 - it isn't!
Seven Pounds (2008) Has a bitter sweet ending and brings up a whole lot of ethical issues. Good movie though.
7 Seconds
Only if you really need a movie and have seen everything else.
Shadowheart (2009) Good western ruined by the ending.
Shake Hands With The Devil (2007) F ollows the story of Canadian General Romeo Dallaire. Canadians should see it.
Shallow Hal (2001)
The movie seems to flounder between serious and comedy and it didn't work for me.
Sherlock Holmes (2009) We found it slow and unsatisfying.
Shooter (2007) Very much in the Jason Bourne genre. High action and very entertaining.
Shrek 2 (2004)

An enjoyable family film, although I must say I find some of the adult humour a little inappropriate sometimes.
Sideways (2004)
The movie praises alcohol consumption, illicit sexual relationships, lying, and deception.
Signs (2002)

A great suspense thriller.
Sin City (2005)

Definitely an adult movie with sustained strong stylized violence, nudity and sexual content including dialogue.
16 Blocks (2006)

The second half and the ending are good enough to redeem the movie to respectability.
Snow Angels [2008] This one of the most depressing movies we have seen. Leave it on the shelf.
Soul Surfer [2011] An very emotional movie with a great message. Based on a true story.
Source Code [2011] Decent drama about changing the future.
Spy Kids 3 D
Star Dust Pure fairy tale so it has to have a good ending.
Star Trek (2009) Has a very emotional start, and the special effects were fantastic. Worth a see on the big screen for sure!
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

This is the best of the 3 prequels, but it doesn't out do Episodes 4 & 5
State of Play (2009) - A well acted movie, that drags at times and has an unexpected ending. Pretty good thriller though.
Step Up

This is one of those movies the viewers really enjoy more than the critics.
Sucker Punch (2011) Can't say this one really moved me and I didn't really understand it.
Sum Of All Fears
Sunshine Cleaning (2009) Had way more to it than we thought. Worth a see for sure.
Surf's Up (2007)

This is a much better movie than Happy Feet. Lots of good lessons about what should be important in life.
Surrogates (2009)
Not up to Bruce Willis standards.
Swing Vote (2008) On DVD It's best attribute is the father daughter relationship.
Syriana (2005) Slow, dark, mixed up, and no ending.
Take The Lead (2006)

It's decent entertainment and has some good life lessons in it. Good enough to recommend.
Taken (2009) - Nothing special, but it's a decent action movie.
Taking Chance (2009) Starring Kevin Bacon. An in depth look at the process of taking deceased American soldiers home.
Taking Lives (2004)

This is your run of the mill thriller, and while at points you may doubt who dun-it, you kind of know.
Taking of Pelham 123 [2009] The story doesn't quite draw us in so it's just lots of action with little emotion.
Tears Of The Sun (2003)

The story is weak admittedly, but the scenes and individual situations make this movie.
10 Items or Less [2006] Leave it on the shelf, in spite of Morgan Freeman.
10,000 BC (2008) Just a bad B movie. Leave it on the shelf.
21 (2008) This was an OK movie. Perhaps a little far fetched and too much Black Jack.
Terminator Salvation [2009] On DVD Worth a view for sure. If nothing else to see a computer generated Arnold S.
There Will Be Blood (2007) Other than the very good acting of Daniel Day-Lewis, it was slow, tedious, and very unentertaining.
Thin Ice (2009) 5th Jesse Stone series with Tom Selleck. Should see previous episodes to understand what he's all about.
Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada Had a good lesson, but a little slow and hard to follow.
3:10 to Yuma (2007) A great western with some good and bad reversals. Best seen on the big screen.
37 Dresses (2008) Just pure good entertainment especially for an anniversary weekend.
Thor [2011] Really good comic book action movie with a good story, that get your emtions involved.
Till Human Voices Wake Up
Time of Favor
If you are interested in the Israeli conflict this movie could interest you
Town,The [2010] This is a good movie, with a very plausible story. We recommend seeing it.
Transformers Just a fun movie.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) The special effects are unreal.
TransSiberian [2008] On DVD Pretty good thriller. Worth a rental.
Triple X - State Of The Union
Dumb mindless entertainment, not all that bad.
Tron Legacy [2010] Good Sci Fi flick.
Tropic Thunder (2008) This movie is more blunder than thunder. There is nothing good to say about Tropic Thunder.
True Grit [2010] Good western action. Hailee Steinfeld who plays Mattie Ross steals the show.
Two Weeks Notice
A light comedy with a very predicable storyline.
