There wasn't much else so we took out Vanity Fair. The movie is not great but it has its moments. Roger Ebert says it this way: "Some of the film's best moments come when characters administer verbal flayings to one another." Reese Witherspoon is hardly a favourite actress for me, but I wondered how this story would play out. There are some practical lessons to be learned, but there was just too much deception to be considered suitable as a positive script. So it could be considered entertainment and that's about it. No nudity and the language is acceptable. Guess they didn't swear as much back in 1820.

Storyline From Yahoo: The new film version of the classic novel by William Makepeace Thackeray centers on Rebecca (Becky) Sharp. Born into the lower class, Becky can rely only on her wit, guile, and sexuality as she makes her way up through London society circa 1820.
