Boston Globe, Ty Burr says: "...warms with dark laughs." 96% of the critics on the Rotten Tomatoes site gave this movie their approval. I guess I fit into the 4%. One critic even said "You just won't see a better acted, and better cast, movie..." The positive side of this movie is the many life lessons that are dealt with in this movie. Unlike the critics I thought they were poorly presented. On that mix Judy gave this a happy face but it was a mixed bag at best for me. There were times in the movie I wanted to shut it off. Perhaps on the solid support of the critics I would recommend you see it, and form your own opinion. It carries an MPAA Rating of R for language, some sex and drug content. For a movie surrounding a 7 year old, that should tell you something.
