James Wegg of JWR says: "...compellingly unfolded love story which revels in the allure of the doomed couple even as the screen is awash in sumptuous, detail-rich settings..." This is a Film Canada movie set in 1759 about the British takeover of Quebec. It is in the same period genre as Titanic, and Pearl Harbour where a love story is woven into an historical event. Unfortunately the historical account bounces around so much it is very hard to follow. The love story is easier and moving, but it's a romantic tragedy, so forget the fairly tail ending. Still it is good enough to recommend. MPAA Rating is PG-13.
